Question: Can anyone recommend good Home Staging courses?
Answer: I have taken a few Home Staging courses. It depends on where you are. I have a suggestions that may sound strange, but I found that you can get pretty good at Home Staging by reading books, catalogs and magazines. I use pictures in catalogs, for different rooms and decors. You stage each room of your home like they do in catalogs or magazines to sell their furniture. But keep spacious.

There are also many books that will help you learn how to stage your home especially on a budget. Most of the time, you don't need to spend much money to do an effective staging job. Read the rest of this entry »

Question: What messages does my suicidal daughter need to hear to make her stop?
My daughter and her husband own an exotic cat, looks like a mini Tiger, his name is Harvey, playful and all that, cute, but my daughter is highly allergic to this cat. She has stage IV breast cancer in her lungs and she is allergic to that cat, suppressing the allergic reactions with her cancer tranquilizers and pain medications. I am her father and it is difficult for me to visit with her because the cat endangers my health. The dander is so overpowering to my sinuses. I have to take several days to recover from it in my lungs....combined of course with the hybrid pollen we have nowadays.
I go over, I try to be civil and nice, give her backrubs when she asks, spend time with her as she slowly zones out.
I think that cat is what is killing her, but she is in so much denial and her inlaws gave her the cat. They had a larger home and had the cat in there.
My daughter wants to be like her inlaws and ignore her genes.
Answer: Reading your posts it seems you have a problem with the cat.
You have said yourself your daughter has stage IV Cancer, which has metastasized to the lungs, then its the Cancer that is killing her, not the cat. And the zoning out, is due to the drug regime she is on, to either fight infection and pain or both.
Stage IV lung metastasized cancer causes breathlessness, wheezing and coughing etc. The cat maybe causing further breathing difficulties, but if she wants the cat around there is nothing you can say or do, unless her doctor says the cat is causing further problems, and they would have to tell her, not you to get rid of the cat.
Please even if you hate the cat, at lest tolerate it, while you still have a daughter to care for. Because as I said before, she needs to feel comfortable and happy, if she has a chance to recover.
