Home Staging Empty House

Question: Is staging really necessary or can I sell a house empty?

I am tasked with selling my mother's house now that she has gone into a nursing home. The realtor is insisting that I complete a long shopping/decorating list to "stage" the house for sale. I had assumed it would be sold empty, after a few necessary repairs and upgrades.

The idea of staging completely throws off my timeline in terms of having an estate sale to sell furniture, etc., having the house professionally cleaned by a service, having the hardwood floors refinished, etc., etc., etc. It makes a really complicated, stressful job a whole lot worse for me.

Is staging really necessary or can I just tell her I want to sell it empty? I'm not looking to soak every possible dollar out of the sale, I just want to get it done.

Thank you.

Answer: They are only suggesting what they think will sell the house more quickly. You are the seller and in control and remember they are working for you. So do what you want to do, if they insist, get another agent.
Good luck.

Question: WiFi screws up boot up?

Would appreciate very much any help on the following weird problem. I have laptop Acer with XP home. 2 Portions C and D. On bootup everything stops at the stage of Windows logo and 3 running dots. At the same time front panel WIFI indicator lights up. If I go back to the boot menu (F8) and choose any of the Safe options, blue screen appears with the following message: A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drives controllers. Technical information ***STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF7A93524, 0xC0000034, 0x0000000, 0x00000000). Tried ACER and Windows Commander rescue disks but none worked. Decided to try the reinstall route (ALT+F10) but work commitments halted everything for a couple of days. When I went for re-installation, bootup without any problem! 3 days later crash again. WiFi is on and doesnt respond when I try turn it off. Thanks in advance.

Answer: do you have a boot disk? if so can you boot with it, no problems?

If you can boot with disk bypassing the junk causing your problem, run your antivirus, and spybot

good luck
