Question: My son needs help with Acne?
My son has acne pretty bad. I think it is bothering me more than him. We have taken him to a doctor who prescribed Zaclir 4% as a Face wash 1-2 times daily. Tretinoin 0.025% once a day and Dynacin 75mg by mouth (Antibiotic) twice a day with food.
It seems that this is not helping at all. I want my son to feel good about himself. I wonder how he must feel with this acne all over his face. I am fed up with gimmicks that promise one thing or another.
Could someone tell me a sure way to get rid of this acne for my sons benefit. Is there any home remedies that more than 1 person has tried and it worked for them. I am desperate. I am sure his self esteem is terrible when all his friends are finally coming out of the acne stage and his seems to be neverending. PLEASE HELP
Answer: take him to another doctor preferrably an actual dermatologist. there are a wide variety of prescription drugs available and it often takes trying a few different drugs to find one that works. also it takes almost 2 mos for prescription drugs to work fully and only then if they were used properly so make sure you give it enough time. (I had to try 3 different combinations of drugs to find one that worked)
btw proactive does not work against bad acne as it works simply by drying the acne out.
