Question: Is one dose of Alka Seltzer (which includes aspirin) harmful to my baby in the first 2 - 4 weeks of pregnancy?
I just tested positive yesterday with a home pregnancy test. Before I knew I was pregnant, I took 1 package (2 tablets) of Alka Seltzer to relieve my nausea (which I now know is due to the pregnancy). I was told by a friend that Alka Seltzer, which includes aspirin, can be harmful to the baby -- especially during the very early stages of development. I just bought some Nature Made prenatal multi-vitamin (http://www.naturemade.com/productdatabase/prd_prod.asp?productid=182), can taking these vitamins possibly reverse any harm that may have been done to the baby?
Answer: If you took only 1 dose, you are fine. If you continue to take it you could put the baby in jeopardy. I was taking a strong antibiotic for a few weeks before I realized I was pregnant and my son came out just perfect.
Now that you know, just be more cautious but you really have nothing to worry about.

Real Estate Staging Basics
The word staging in real estate circles refers to the process of making a house for sale look ideal when showing it. Real Estate Staging isn't as simple as adding a new coat of paint and shampooing the carpet… Those are in fact downright necessities for showing your property.

For a home to be considered staged, it needs to have some charming but minimal furniture brought in. It's more of an art than a science, but staging a home is a process that professionals take Real Estate Staging classes and even get a certification in.
For instance, if you are trying to stage your own home for sale, you need to make it attractive to the most possible people who see it, so having ratty old furniture in the living room won't do much good. In fact the first step is to take all the exiting furniture out, and then bring back in some very small, minimalistic furniture to replace it so there appears to be much more space in the room.
To find a professional who has already been through Real Estate Staging training you'll need to either ask your local realtors for the number of one, or If that's not possible, then you can go directly to the source of the training itself; Barb Schwartz's Staged Homes dot Com website. She lists a directory of qualified stagers in your area.
So is real estate Home Staging misleading?
Never. The furniture brought in is real furniture, not half-sized, and there are no parlor tricks like replacing a whole wall with mirrors to fool people into thinking that there's more space… It's all about removing everything from a house that might turn off potential buyers and only bringing in the most neutral, accepted-by-everyone pieces of furniture, in order to help your odds of selling a home.
It's a documented fact that Staged Homes sell 10 times faster than non-staged ones, so the question of price for staging is never a question you have to consider. Real Estate Staging is always worth it.
