Home Staging Birmingham

Question: Premier League 1, Church of England 0 - Does Easter football really impact on levels of church attendance?
Church 'anger' is being directed at the Premier League for staging matches on Easter Sunday, specifically the Aston Villa vs. Everton game.
Birmingham Church officials are going all-out attack on the Premiership, demanding that this does not happen again - the clash means attendances in the aisle will suffer this Easter Sunday, as people will be staying at home or trying to attend the football match. The Premiership stands accused of poaching the budding Christian hopefuls from their seats.
Can the Church reverse its fortunes and try and get more bums on pews? Because if not, the choir will quite literally 'not be singing anymore'.
Would people rather be chanting hymns or allegations about the referee's masturbatory practices?
How about you - will you be worshipping God with your fellow brothers in Christ, or will you be bowing down to Gabriel Agbonlahor?

Answer: Ha, the Church is on a hiding to nothing with this one.
Church congregations have been falling for years; the only one's currently growing are Catholic churches because of Eastern European workers being predominantly Catholic (Poles are, at any rate) and have a tendency to be more religious than us.
Christian hopefuls indeed. What's the draw of sitting in a church compared to sitting in a football stadium with your mates?
