Question: My cold sore is a scab, this is a good thing right?
A cold sore started forming the day before yesterday on my top lip and was freaking out! When I got home I melted 2 ice cubes on it until it was numb as fuck (pardon) haha. Then yesterday i sterilized a needle and popped all of the blisters followed by quickly dabbing it with a cotton ball drenched in alcohol. Then last night I fell asleep holding an ice cube on it and today i have been repeatedly dabbling it with alcohol and trying to keep it super clean (no make-up). It never got to a nasty stage, and its only been pink and now its a little more red. No puss, only a clear liquid when I popped the blisters. Now it is a scab (not nasty, very dry) and I was just wondering if that means its going to be gone soon. Thanks 
Answer: Yes that is a good thing, the cold sore is on it's way to healing. All you have to do is to apply some cold sore cream regularly to the sores or blisters to make them go away.
You should still avoid kissing any one (specially children) and don't give any one oral sex until the sore is completely gone. Cold sores can be contagious even while they are in the scabbing stage.
